The Silent Roar of Kanchenjunga.

While all the other trekking routes like Annapurna and Everest are full of travelers, there stands a beautiful mountain located in Taplejung district of Nepal, the Kanchenjunga, a giant who rarely speaks. The third highest mountain has stands there at the top for centuries, witnessing the world changes beneath him. Many seasons passed, rivers carve their paths, forests grow and fade. Yet Kanchenjunga remained patient and unmoving.

It watches the crowds of trekkers march proudly toward the Everest, hears the laughter and excitement carried by the winds toward Annapurna. Often hears stories about these trails, blog about its adventure and thousand of photographs featuring their beauty. However, the trail that leads to Kanchenjunga remains quiet and silent. Sometime only few travelers come to its trail who actually loves the adventure.

Although Kanchenjunga receives very few travelers there are still a lot of things that Kanchenjunga offers.

  • Wilderness and Solitude

Kanchenjunga is arguably one of the least touched trekking trails which offers peace and a real taste of nature. The route allows you to connect with the mountains, no heavy crowd, no unnecessary sounds, just you, nature and the mountains.

    • Two Base Camp.

Kanchenjunga offers two different routes with two different base camp. You can either trek to the south base camp or to the north base. Also, if you are physically fit then Kanchenjunga offer you a complete circuit trek.

    • Incredible Bio diversity.

Kanchenjunga is rich in bio diversity and is a home of some of the popular animals like Snow Leopard, Red Panda, Himalayan Black Bear and hundred of birds.

    • Dramatic Himalayan Views

Kanchenjunga trek allows its travelers to witness the breathtaking Himalayan views throughout the journey. Trekkers can enjoy the breath-taking views of Jannu (Kumbhakarna), Yalung Kang and mount Kanchenjunga itself. Kanchenjunga trek is the golden opportunity for one to witness the beautiful Himalayan views in the peaceful and quiet environment.

Lastly, Kanchenjunga doesn’t compete with Everest or Annapurna. It doesn’t call out for attention. Instead, it remains silent, patient and waits for the rare kind of traveler who chooses the quiet trail, the one who understands that the greatest mountains are not always the busiest ones, sometimes the silent and empty one provides better experience. Once the rare traveler enters the trail, they will hear the silent roar of the Kanchenjunga.
