As Nepal is divided into three tropical regions, Hilly, Terai and Mountain, sometimes due to the varying weather the flights might get delayed or even cancelled.  So, not to bear this problem you may travel in the best season with limited flight delayed or Cancellation.

The Best Time to Fly in Nepal.

Due to the varying weather in three different regions, the domestic flights are frequently delayed or cancelled. However, if you visit Nepal during spring and autumn season, you will have a very minimal chance of flight cancellation. The months of March to May and September to November are the best time to visit Nepal. During these periods the sky remains clear, allowing the smooth flight operations.

In monsoon season the flight delays and cancellation are much more frequent. Due to the heavy rain and wind, most of the domestic flights, especially of the mountain regions face the problem of frequent cancellation.

What are the alternative options, if the flight got cancelled?

If the flight somehow got cancelled, we’ll go through these two alternatives.

• Road Transport: In case of flight cancellation, we can use a road way as an alternative. This is only valid if there are any roads ways to reach to the destination.
• Helicopter: In the situation of flight cancellation, a helicopter can be an alternative. We can use a helicopter to reach our destination, as it will be faster than the road transportation.

Note: The smooth Domestic flight operation is uncertain in Nepal due to the weather conditions. So, if you are travelling to Nepal, make sure to add at least one extra day to your itinerary, so even if the flight got cancelled you should not have to face a major disruption.
