As per the latest trekking regulations and operational practices implemented by the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and the Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN), foreign trekkers must present valid travel insurance in order to obtain trekking permits. Without appropriate insurance coverage, permits such as TIMS cards and national park or conservation area permits will not be issued, effectively restricting trekking access.
