Manaslu Short Circuit Trek starts with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Aarughat/SotiKhola. Then, you trek, passing through the traditional settlements, terraced farmland, pastures, dense rhododendron/alpine woodlands, glacial rivers, frozen lakes, deep gorges, and narrow ridges. During your trek, you pass Larkhya La Pass, step on the Manaslu Base Camp, and explore Birendra Tal (lake). Itinerary

Day 01 :
Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport
Accommodation:At a Luxury Hotel/Guesthouse

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, a representative from Wonder Himalaya will be waiting to greet you. You will easily recognize them holding a placard with your name or our company name.

After a warm welcome, you will be transferred in a private vehicle to your luxury hotel or guesthouse, where our staff will assist you with the check-in process.

Today is reserved for rest and acclimatization. Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay and take the time to relax and recover from your journey, preparing yourself for the incredible adventure ahead in the Himalayas.

Day 02 :
Reserve Day in Kathmandu

Today is dedicated to rest, last-minute preparations, and a detailed trek briefing. You will meet your trekking guide and support team, who will walk you through the itinerary, safety protocols, and what to expect during your journey. This is a great opportunity to ask any questions and clarify any concerns you may have.

Our team will also review your gear and equipment checklist to ensure you’re fully prepared. If you’re missing any essential items, we’ll assist you in renting or purchasing them from reputable outdoor gear shops located nearby in the Thamel area, Kathmandu’s hub for trekking supplies. Enjoy a relaxed day as you prepare both mentally and physically for the adventure of a lifetime.

Day 03 :
Drive from Kathmandu to Maccha khola (900m/2,953ft)

 Our journey to Manaslu Circuit begins from day three, with an early breakfast in Kathmandu. After that we will leave Kathmandu and set off on a scenic drive toward Maccha Khola. Along the way we will witness the views of Trishuli and Budhi Gandaki River. We will pass through the Dhading Besi, the district headquarters of Dhading. Continuing our road trip, we will now go through rough and more rugged road and after several hours of driving we will finally reach Arughat. Driving for at least three to four hours we will finally step on Machha Khola, the starting point of our trek. We will stay overnight in Machha Khola and prepare ourselves for the upcoming journey.

Day 04 :
Trek from Maccha Khola to Jagat (1,070m/3,510)

After spending a night in Maccha Khola, we will begin our journey with an early breakfast and start our official trek to Jagat through lush subtropical forests and along the banks of the Budhi Gandaki River. After walking for next two hours we will reach Lyabrubesi, a Gurung village. Moving on we will go through suspension bridge to cross Nauli Khola. After few hours of walk we will also cross some of the famous places like Khorlabesi, Tatopani and Dobhan. From Dobhan we will continue our trek for next four hours and finally make our way to Jagat. Once we reach Jagat, we will show our permit to enter Manaslu Conservation Area. After such a long trek we will take a proper rest and spend our night in Jagat.

Day 05 :
Trek from Jagat to Deng (1,860m/6,100ft)

The day five of our journey begins with an early trek from Jagat, we’ll go through dense forests filled with towering trees and colorful rhododendron. Through out the trek we will cross several suspension bridges swaying above rushing rivers and streams, offering breathtaking views and a bit adventure. Soon we will reach Philim, and continuing our walk we will eventually reach Ekle Bhatti and Lokpa, where the Shar Khola and Chhukung Khola river meet. After crossing another suspension bridge, we will reach Pewa and by evening we will be in Deng. We will stay overnight in Deng and take a proper rest.

Day 06 :
Trek from Deng to Namrung (2,630m/8,628ft)

Today we will start our trek from Deng and move towards Namrung.  We will go through both Bihi Phedi and Bihi, two culturally rich villages where Tibetan influence becomes more visible. The trail continues through dense forest and crosses several bridges and finally we will reach Ghap, a quiet village with traditional stone houses. From Ghap the path climbs steeply and passes through beautiful rhododendron and pine forests. After a while we will reach Namrung, a well-developed village. Once we reach Namrung we will be able to witness the excellent views of mountain. We will stop here for today and be well prepared for tomorrow.

Day 07 :
Trek from Namrung to Shyala (3,100m/10,170ft)

Our day seven begins with a trek from Namrung to Shyala, after an early breakfast. We will ascend through forests filled with rhododendron and pine trees. Along the Way we will pass through traditional Buddhist mani walls, chortens, and Prayer flags making our trail even more exciting and beautiful.  Likewise, we will go through the beautiful village called Lho, from where we can experience the stunning views of the towering peaks of Manaslu and Himal Chuli. After several hours of walk to uphill we will finally reach Shyala , a charming mountain village known for its Buddhist monastery, prayer stones and its spectacular outlook over the Manaslu massif. For the day seven we will stay here in Shaya and prepare ourself for the following day.

Day 08 :
Trek from Shyala to Sama Gaon (3,530m/11,580ft)

After a beautiful night in Shyala we will begin our journey to Sama Gaon, walking through alpine forests and open ridges surrounded by breathtaking views of the Manaslu massif. Moving on, we will also encounter traditional mani stones, prayer flag, and small mountain settlements following the Buddhist Culture. About halfway to Samagaun, we will visit the Pung Gyen Gompa Cave, a sacred meditation site nestled in the cliffs. After exploring the cave, we will continue gently upward, exploring the spectacular panoramic vistas of towering peaks such as Manaslu, Ngadi Chuli, and Himal Chuli. Soon we’ll reach Sama Gaun, a charming village known for its welcoming teahouses and stunning mountain views. We will stay here for tonight and take a proper rest.

Day 09 :
Acclimatization and Exploration at Sama Gaon.

This is rest and exploration day at Samagaon and nearby regions. You would feel blessed after seeing innocent smiling faces of children and kind people accompanied with enchanting natural beauty. Also, you can explore big chortens, colorful flags, prayer wheels, piled mani stones with holy inscriptions. In addition, you observe amazing woodcraft and women wearing traditional jewelry. Even you go to Pungyen monastery and feel blessed with its sanity and holiness in the Himalayas.

After a long trek journey, we will stop for a day. We will dedicate our day nine as an acclimatization and rest day. We will make sure we are both physically and mentally fit to continue our journey. We will also take a short-day hike to Birendra Taal Lake, which is named after the Late King Birendra of Nepal. We’ll also visit Labrang Gompa or Kargya Chholing monastery, where monks do blessing ceremonies for all climbers.  With this we will conclude or day nine and stay overnight in Samagaun.

Day 10 :
Trek from Sama Gaun to Samdo (3,860m/12,664ft)

After a proper rest in Sama Gaun, we will feel refreshing and well prepared to climb higher toward Samdo Village, with majestic Manaslu Peak watching over you every step on the way.  As the trail ascends the terrain becomes rockier and more barren, revealing a rugged landscape that challenges trekkers while showcasing the raw beauty of the high Himalayas. After three to four hours of trek, we’ll finally reach Samdo, village founded by Tibetan refugees.

Day 11 :
Samdo to Dharmasala (4,470m/14,665ft)

The day eleven of our journey begins with a trek to Dharmasala. We will start climbing higher into the mountains through the rockier trails.

As we go up, we will see amazing views of tall peaks like Manaslu and other nearby mountains. Through out the way we will see prayers flags fluttering in the way, showing us this is a special and spiritual place. Finally, we will make our way to Dharamsala. We will stop here for today and will continue our trek tomorrow. We might need to use room in sharing basis as there are only limited teahouses in Dharmasala.

Day 12 :
Cross Larkya La Pass (5,160m / 16,929) and trek to Bhimtang (3,720m/12,204ft).

The twelfth day of our trek begins with an early breakfast and an excitement to move ahead. Today we will cross Larkya La Pass and heads toward Bhimtang, crossing different small streams. After walking for two to three hours we will finally reach Larkya La Pass. Continuing our trek downhill for next four to five hours through rocky paths and open valleys, we will finally reach Bhimtang. We will stay here for tonight and enjoy the stunning view of mountains with snow capped peaks towering in the distance.
 

Day 13 :
Trek from Bhimtang to Tilije (1,550m/5,085ft)
Accommodation:At a Teahouse
Activity Duration:15 km,6–7 hrs.
Meals:Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Today we will leave Bhimtang after an early breakfast and begin descending into lower elevations. We will go through lush forests of pine and rhododendron, with occasional glimpse of distant mountains. As we walk, we will cross several small streams and pass through local villages, where we can experience the traditional rural lifestyle of the area. The path will gradually lead us down to Tilije, a small village surrounded by beautiful farmland and forests. We will stay here for tonight and prepare ourselves for the next day.

Day 14 :
Telije to Besisahar and drive to Kathmandu

Activity Duration: ~20 km,7–8 hrs (trek + drive).
Meals:Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Today we will have a very long journey to Kathmandu. Firstly, we will drive in a jeep to Besisahar, exploring the beauty from the window of the jeeb. Driving through rough road, we will reach Besisahar from Telije within two to three hours. After having our lunch in Besisahar, we will now finally drive to Kathmandu. After seven to eight hours of driving we will finally place our steps back in Kathmandu. For the rest of the day, we will take a proper rest.

Day 15 :
Reserve Day in Kathmandu

We are almost at the end of our journey, today you will have a free time to explore Kathmandu city, we will guide you through some of the best and remarkable locations of Kathmandu city. Starting with Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath and Kathmandu Durbar Square we will make sure you do not miss any must visit locations. And also, you can buy some souvenir to take it back with you as a piece of memory. At the end of the day, you’ll be provided a farewell dinner form Wonder Himalaya to celebrate the completion of your wonderful journey.  You can even use this day as an extra day somewhere between the trek.

Day 16 :
Final Departure

On the final day of our journey, we will bid you farewell and arrange your transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport. Please make sure your luggage is packed and that you haven’t left anything behind. We will ensure you reach the airport on time. With this, we conclude our 16 days trek to Manaslu Circuit. And hope to have you here next year for another trek.
