Overview

Langtang Gosainkunda Circuit Trek is one of the best treks in the Himalayas. During this trip, you witness 700 years old monastery – Kyanjin Gompa. Also, you will feel lost in the breathtaking views of the incredible mountain ranges such as Langtang Lirung Himal, including Mt. Annapurna II, Ganesh Himal, Mt. Manaslu, and a few other peaks. Find yourself standing at the top of Tsero Ri, capturing these jaw-dropping scenes.

During your trek, you get to touch with all the scenes and excitements of the Himalayas, flora, and fauna, local native people and their culture, pristine green scenery, outstanding landscapes, and snow-capped mountains including.

When you reach Gosaikunda, the immaculate beauty of nature will hypnotize you. Gosaikunda is the purest lake that carries religious values to Buddhists and Hindus. A huge number of religious trekkers visit Gosaikunda and take a holy bath, especially during the time of Janai Purnima in April. Other sacred lakes list Surya Kunda, Bhairav Kunda, Saraswati Kunda, Aama Kunda, and more. Imagine a moment – the sun rising above the glistering lakes, then flying over shining peaks.

In addition, you meet native Tamang people – the descendants of Tibetans and observe their lifestyle, dress, culture, and their craftsmanship. We also pass through the Kerung corridor – an important corridor and ancient trade route (Kerung and Tibet) which passes between Langtang Himal and Ganesh Himal.

Itinerary

Day 01 :
Arrival Day and Trek Briefing in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,265ft.)

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, a member of our team will warmly welcome you and provide private transportation to your hotel or accommodation. You can either rest or explore around for the rest of the day.
At the end of the day, we’ll have a small meeting with the trek leaders and crews so that you don’t miss any sort of information.
Also our team will review your gears and ensure you have everything if not you can purchase or rent on the following day.


Day 02 :
Full day Kathmandu City Tour

On the second day of our journey, you’ll spend your day roaming around some of the popular destinations of Kathmandu such as Pashupatinath Temple, Swyambhunath Temple, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. You can also do a last-minute shopping for trek before we leave. We also suggest you to have enough rest as we will begin our official journey from tomorrow.

Day 03 :
Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1500m/ 4,921ft)

Today we will begin our day with a scenic seven-to-eight-hour drive along mountain roads to Syabrubesi, the gateway to the Langtang Valley. We will go through the route following Trishuli River, offering beautiful views of terraced fields, rural villages, and distant snow peaks of Ganesh Himal. Eventually, we will reach Syabrubesi, we will stay here for tonight and prepare ourselves for the upcoming journey.

Day 04 :
Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2,500m/8,201ft)

The day four of our trek begins with a walk from Syrabrubesi, crossing over the Bhote Koshi River before joining the Langtang Khola. We’ll then trek through the lush forest of oak, maple, and rhododendron. On our way we might encounter some grey Langurs swinging or if we got enough luck, we might even get a chance to witness red panda. After walking for at least five hours, we will finally reach Lama Hotel, a small cluster of lodges surrounded by dense forest. We will stay here tonight and prepare for the upcoming journey.

Day 05 :
Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (3,430m/11,252ft)

Our day five starts with a journey from Lama Hotel, passing through beautiful pine and hemlock forests before emerging into open yak pastures. Climbing for a bit further, we’ll get to see the first close up view of Langtang Lirung (7,227m). On our way we will pass through small settlements like Ghoda Tabela. And soon we will place our step on Langtang Valley, a traditional Tamang settlement.

Day 06 :
Trek from Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa (3,830m/ 12,565ft)

After a wonderful night at Langtang Village, we will now head towards Kyanjin Gompa. The trek to Kyanjin Gompa is short about three to four hours. We will go through yak grazing lands and across small glacial streams. Once we reach Kyanjin Gompa, we will first visit Buddhist monastery, then we’ll visit the famous Kyanjin cheese factory and taste the fresh yak cheese as well. We’ll stay overnight here and enjoy the stunning views of Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, and other peaks.

Day 07 :
Acclimatization & Exploration day at Kyanjin Gompa:

The day seven of our journey will be dedicated for rest. As we have been walking for several days, our body need proper rest and we should make sure we are both physically and mentally fit. However, at the day time we’ll go on a hike to Tserko Ri (4,984m) for a stunning view of the Langtang range and surrounding glaciers. Or we can go on a short hike to Kyanjin Ri (4,773m). With these activities we will conclude our day seven and most importantly take a proper rest.

Day 08 :
Trek from Kyajin Gompa to Lama Hotel(2,500m/8,201 ft)

After an early breakfast at Kyanjin Gompa, we’ll now return back to Lama Hotel. We will go back the same route that brought us here, passing thorough Langtang Village and Goda Tabela. After walking downhill for six hours, we will finally arrive at Lama Hotel. We will once again stay here overnight and take a proper rest.

Day 09 :
Trek from Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabrubesi (2,210m/ 7,250ft)

Today we will begin our trek through lush valleys and across suspension bridges and pass by small settlements. The trial is mostly downhill so it won’t be much challenging. After a complete walk of at least five hours, we will finally reach Thulo Syabrubesi, a traditional Tamang village perched on a hillside, offering sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and terraced farmland. Once we arrived here, we’ll explore around the village and will have some authentic Tamang cuisine. At the end of the day, we’ll enjoy the beautiful sunset and take a proper rate.

Day 10 :
Thulo Syabru to Shin Gompa (3,330m/ 10,925ft)

The day ten begins with an early climb to Shin Gompa, leaving the village behind we’ll move ahead through oak and rhododendron forests. On our way we might see some occasional views of Ganesh Himal and the Langtang range. After a complete walk of almost five hours, we’ll arrive at Shin Gompa, a peaceful place filled with people following Buddhism. We will be staying here tonight, under the sky filled with stars.

Day 11 :
Shin Gompa to Gosaikunda (3,910m/ 4,380 m)

The day eleven will be exciting for us, as we will move toward the alpine lakes of Gosaikunda. We will begin our trek from Shin Gompa, passing through Lauribinayak Viewpoint, from where we can see the beautiful view of the Annapurna range to the west and Langtang Lirung to the east. As we finally reach Gosaikunda, we will be able to see the lake full of crystal-clear water. We will enjoy the view and set up our tent as we will be staying here for tonight.

Day 12 :
Explore Gosaikunda

On the day twelve of our journey, we’ll take a most necessary rest, and a break for a day. We’ll make sure that we are both physically and mentally fit for the upcoming challenges. We’ll also roam around Gosaikunda lake and explore its beauty. We’ll also go around the smaller lakes like Saraswati Kunda and Bhairav Kunda. With these activities we will conclude our day 12 and take adequate rest.

Day 13 :
Trek to Suryakunda Pass (4,610m / 15,124ft) to Ghopte (3,530m / 11,581ft)

Today we will start early as we need to climb the Laurina Pass, which is the highest point of the journey. We will first start our trek from Gosaikunda, and ascend toward the Lauribina Pass. After walking for at least two hours in a rocky trail, we will finally reach Laurina Pass. From here we will descend toward Ghopte, through a rocky terrain and alpine medows. Soon we will step on Ghopte, a remote settlement surrounded by dense forest. We will stay here overnight and take a proper rest.

Day 14 :
Trek from Ghopte to Tharepati (3,690m/ 12,105ft)

The day fourteen of our journey begins with a shorter trek from Ghopte to Tharepati. We’ll go through rhododendron, oak and juniper forest. Within two hours we will arrive at Tharepati. Tharepani will offer us an exciting view of both Langtang and Helambu regions. We will conclude our day fourteen here, and stay overnight at Tharepati.

Day 15 :
Trek from Tharepati to Kutumsang (2,470m/ 8,103ft)

From Tharepati, the road then descends through the enormous forest on the mountain range into Mangen Goth, a shepherd's village. From there, we got the last glimpse of Dorje Lakpa on our journey. Further, the journey proceeds from Mangengoth to Kyuola Bhanjyang and then descends through the deep forest to Kutumsang with wild birds chirping and wild beasts roaring in the way. Overnight, we stayed at Kutumsang.

Day 16 :
Trek from Kutumsang to Chisopani (2,215m/7,266ft)

Today, we will begin with a light breakfast on the way into the journey. The trail will take us up from Kutumsang to the Jogin Danda ridge. From here, we will descend to Gul Bhanjyang and ascend again along a big motor road over yet another hill of Thotong and Lapcha Danda. After this ridge, the path finally begins to descend to Chisopani. We then walk down steep and narrow tracks to reach Pati Bhanjyang. From Pati Bhanjyang, we will be at Chisopani in one or two hours maximum. Our overnight stay is at Chisopani.

Day 17 :
Chisopani to Kathmandu (1,300m / 4,265ft) via Sundarijal (1,460m / 4,790ft)

Today will be the final trekking day as we are heading back to the Kathmandu city. But firstly, we will trek to Sundarijal, passing through pine forests, small waterfalls and small villages. We will go through Shivapuri National Park as well. After three hours of trek, we will finally reach Sundarijal. From here we’ll go on a sharing jeep and after thirty to forty minutes driving, we will finally reach Kathmandu.

Day 18 :
Reserve Day in Kathmandu

We are almost at the end of our journey, today you will have a free time to explore Kathmandu city, we will guide you through some of the best and remarkable locations of Kathmandu city. We will go and explore around the Basantapur area and have some delicious Newari food. And also, you can walk around the streets of Thamel and buy some souvenir to take it back with you as a piece of memory. At the end of the day, you’ll be provided a farewell dinner from Wonder Himalaya to celebrate the completion of your wonderful journey.

Day 19 :
Farewell/Departure Day

After having breakfast, we shall send you to the airport to catch his trip back home. You will go home with a heart filled with memories and tales you will cling to forever. Goodbye from all of us, and we hope to see you here again for another Himalayan adventure!
