Itinerary
Day 01 :
Drive from Kathmandu to Dunche (1,960m / 6,430 ft).

Today we will step outside the Kathmandu valley, we will go through the mountain roads with scenic views of villages, rivers and terraced fields. And soon we’ll reach Trishuli Bazaar. From here we will drive furthermore and after a complete drive of six to seven hours, we’ll finally make our way to Dunche. Dunche is the headquarters of Rasuwa District and the entry point to both Langtang Valley and Gosaikunda Trek. We will stay here overnight, watching the view of Langtang Lirung and Ganesh Himal.
Day 02 :
Trek from Dunche to Shin Gompa (3,330m / 10,925ft).

The day two is our actual walking day, we will start our first trek journey from Dhunche, then we will go through a mix of terraced farmland, pine and rhododendron forests. On our way, we will get the little glimpse of Ganesh Himal and Langtang Lirung. We will go pass by some small water streams, suspension bridge and dense forest, hearing the beautiful sounds of Himalayan birds. After a complete walk of almost five hours, we’ll arrive at Shin Gompa, a peaceful place filled with people following Buddhism. We will be staying here tonight, under the sky filled with stars.
Day 03 :
: Shin Gompa to Gosaikunda (3,910 m/ 12,828ft).

The day three will be exciting for us, as we will move toward the alpine lakes of Gosaikunda. We will begin our trek from Shin Gompa, passing through Lauribinayak Viewpoint, from where we can see the beautiful view of the Annapurna range to the west and Langtang Lirung to the east. As we finally reach Gosaikunda, we will be able to see the lake full of crystal-clear water. We will enjoy the view and set up our tent as we will be staying here for tonight.
Day 04 :
Cross Lauribina Pass (4,610m / 15,124ft) to Ghopte (3,530m / 11,581ft). Distance: 11 km |

Today we will start early as we need to climb the Lauribina Pass, which is the highest point of the journey. We will first start our trek from Gosaikunda, and ascend toward the Lauribina Pass. After walking for at least two hours in a rocky trail, we will finally reach Lauribina Pass. From here we will descend toward Ghopte, through a rocky terrain and alpine medows. Soon we will step on Ghopte, a remote settlement surrounded by dense forest. We will stay here overnight and take a proper rest.
Day 05 :
Ghopte to Kutumsang (2,470m / 8,103ft).

The day five of our trek begins with a gentle descent toward Kutumsang, through dense forests of rhododendron, oak, and pine. As we begin our trek, we’ll pass by several ridges and traditional shepherd huts. Along the way, we’ll enjoy the panoramic view of the Langtang Himal, Dorje Lakpa, and Jugal Himal ranges. We’ll also pass by some popular villages like Magen Goth and Tharepati (3,650m / 11,975 ft). From Tharepati we’ll again descend through forested slopes and smallTamang settlements and finally make our way to Kutumsang, a beautiful village with terraced fields and traditional stone houses. We’ll stay here overnight and prepare for the journey a head.
Day 06 :
Kutumsang to Chisapani (2,160m/ 7,087 ft).

Today we’ll leave Kutumsang behind and start our trek toward Chisapani through forests and terraced hillsides. As we move forward, we’ll pass by few Tamang and Sherpa villages and eventually reach Gul Bhanjyang (2,140m / 7,021 ft), a traditional village that offers spectacular mountain views. From here we will go through the forests of rhododendron and oak, enjoying the view of Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, Jugal Himal, and Dorge Lakpa. After crossing the villages like Chipling and Pati Bhanjyang, we’ll reach Chisapani. We’ll spend our night here, while enjoying the mesmerizing sunset view.
Day 07 :
Trek to Sundarijal (1,350m / 7,087 ft) and Drive back to Thamel (1,300m / 4,265ft).

Today will be the final day of our actual trek as we’ll make our way back to Thamel. We’ll begin our day with an early trek from Chisapani, passing through the dense forests of rhododendron and oak and soon make our way to Borlang Bhanjyang, a mountain pass with approximitely 2,425m in elevation. Crossing Borlang Bhanjyang we’ll now reach descend toward Mulkharka (1,800m / 5,905 ft). After a complete walk of at least four to five hours, we’ll place our foot at Sundarijal. From here, we’ll drive back for next one hour and finally reach Thamel. You’ll be transferred to your accommodation where you can have a proper rest.
